SUPREME COURT CRIMINAL LIST.

The criminal .sittings of the Supreme Court, Northern District, commencing on Monday next, promise to be unusually short, as up to the .present only 13 cases have been set down for hearing, and no others appear likely to be added before the opening day. The charges on the list, are as under:—Johanna Hodge, theft; Richard Newcom ' Willis, horse-stealing; Joseph Andrew, rape; Alfred Duck, assault, causing actual bodily harm : Benjamin Crossley, attempt to shoot; Kalii Wi Paxata, horse-stealing (two charges); Harry Philp, carnally knowing a girl under 16 years of age,* and indecent assault ; George Arthur Newcastle, Victor Hunter, and Charles Piper, brealung and entering ana theft; George Poi, horse-stealing; Ipu Hohaia and Mehaka Hohaia, killing a heifer with intent to steal tile carcase; John Duffy, assault, causing actnaLbodily harm ; Richard Williams, theft.
