"AUCKLAND WEEKLY NEWS.

AN INTERESTING NUMBER. FIFTY LARGE ILLUSTRATIONS. NELSON DIAMOND JUBILEE. NINTH NEW ZEALAND CONTINGENT. YACHTING SCENES. MARINE PICNIC, NEW PLYMOUTH. STUDENTS' SUMMER SCHOOL GROUPS AND PORTRAITS. MISCELLANEOUS PICTURES.

Special prominence is given in this week's issue of the Auckland Weekly News to the Diamond Jubilee recently held in Nelson. This beautiful and interesting town, the only place in the South Island with the climate of- the North, has been celebrating its sixtieth anniversary in a thoroughly hearty manner, and the Weekly News' special photographer has secured the most interesting and picturesque features of the celebrations. The grand procession through the streets, the groups of officials and distinguished visitors, old settlers and young children, are all well portrayed.

The formation of the Ninth New Zealand Contingent at the Te Papapa camp, near Auckland, provides a number of attractive subjects. The representatives from different districts, the camp itsehand other features, are depicted in some cases alongside selected views of the departure of the Eighth Contingent.

The Australian Students' Christian Union Summer School, lately held at Wanganui, provides some good illustrations. The institution is not tinlike the famous American Chautaguan Society, and although it may lack some of the more picturesque elements of this society, yet at the same time it is deeply interesting. There are a large number of miscellaneous pictures, among which are some highly artistic reproductions, such as harvesting in the Auckland Domain, and one or two fine seascapes and landscapes.

. The Weekly News is replete with highclass literary matter and .general political and commercial information. The present number is now on sale, and can be obtained from all agents and runners.
