AUCKLAND CLUB. There was a fair attendance of members on Saturday notwithstanding the absence of a, large number who were at Wellington and Newmarket. Darkness interrupted the game when the interest as to the result was at its highest tension. When hostilities ceased, Victoria was leading; by 11; with six heads in the two rinks yet to be played. Palmerston was weakened by having to play a substitute in the place of Drew. The game will be completed on Monday afterhoon. It is hardly likely that Palmerston will be- able to pick up the missing numbers in six heads. When the tournament ceased on Saturday night the relative positions of the various clubs were as follows:—

The interclub contest at the bowling tournament was continued yesterday, and will be < brought, to a close to-morrow morning, Vic-, toria and Palmerston North: having four heads to play in the final game. "Victoria has a lead of 11 points,' so their chances of success are very bright indeed. The Auckland teams did not do much play yesterday, the rinks being disorganised to some extent by members leaving for home. Ponsonby were badly beaten by Gisborn© by 45 to 11, but made a better stand against Carterton. Auckland was beaten by Thorndon by five points after a good game. Ilerrmara gave two opposing teams byes as the. result of the games could not affect the final issue. - '•' _ /•■•' ■-■*- There are several Auckland rinks entered for other competitions, including Batts, Perritc, Towscy, and Culpan (Auckland Club). Brookes' team (Newmarket), Newail's team (Ponsonbv), Littler' rink (Ponsonby), and Ross (Mount Eden). , Some interesting contests arc expected. TOURNAMENT AT DUNEDIN. [by telegraph.— association-.] Dunedin, Sunday. For the New Zealand Bowling Association's tournament, which begins to-morrow, 33 rinks have entered, which is an increase of two over last year. No North Islanders have entered. Christchurch sends two rinks, Canterbury and Timaru two each, Ashburtou, Mea/Jowbank (Oamaru), and Phoenix (Oamaru), one each, and Southland four.
