“A MESSAGE FROM MARS.”
■To-morrow the Haw troy Comedy Company open their season at the Opera House with " A Message from Mars," the play that has already amused and charmed thousands of theatregoers in every State of Australia and through tho South Island. A crowded house should therefore greet the company here, which is reported to bo amongst the best yet seen in New Zealand. "A Message from Mars," which is based upon an up-to-date story on the lines of Dickens' " Christmas Carol," has, according to all reports, an; attractiveness about it which has led repeatedly to playgoers witnessing it again and again. Its peculiar charm is undoubted. . The mechanical and electrical effects and the illusionary interludes with which it abounds are certain to prove a draw. Mr. Hawtrey brings with him the majority ? of the London artists whom he brought out from Home, and the entertainment promised is of an altogether high order. The company arrive from New Plymouth this morning after a phenomenally successful season down South. The box-plan is now open at Wildman's.
