; ' IMPORTANT SHEEP SALE. , ' Napier, Tuesday. A big sale of sheep was held here to-day, Messrs. Wenley and Lanauze submitting 17,923 Ii -Lincoln crossbred sheep, on account of Patoka Station, and 5500 on account of A. Shield, Waikonini. This number was exclusive of the stud rams, but including lambs. Mr. E. Bowes, representing Messrs. W. B. Clarkson and Sons, ot Christchurch, was a large purchaser. The Patoka Station flock realised in round figures £7000, making an average of 7s 9d. Of Mr. Shield's sheep, 1600 4-tooth wethers went to Messrs. Clarkson and Sons at 8s 7d, 2500 2-toota to Messrs. Nelson Bros., at 8s 3d, and the last line of 1500 2-tooth wethers to Mr. J. Mathews at 7s 9d. There was a large attendance of buyers.
