' [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENTS.] ' :■ ■ HAMILTON. . ■ ' THIS morning Constable Hyde brought a man named James Carroll from the King Country to the "Wailtato Hospital. The man was suffering from a somewhat severe wound in the throat inflicted by himself in his attempt to : commit- suicide. The wound, though rather extensive, is not likely to result fatally. * - : - '■_ " TAMAHERE. A' PRETTY wedding took place at St. Stephen's Church on Monday, when Mr. Vincent Ewcn was married to Miss Millicent Broome. Archdeacon Willis officiated. The bride looked charming in a handsome gray travelling dress trimmed with silk of lighter shade. She was attended by her sister, Miss Eva Broome, who looked very nice in a dainty robe of white cassimere trimmed with pale green silk, and . picture hat. The bride was given away by her brother Harold, and Mr. H. Ewen, of Coromandel, acted as best man. The service was partly choral, Miss Main presiding at the organ. After partaking-of the wedding- breakfast the happy couple left or Te Aroha. The large number of wedding presents evidenced the popularity of the bride. ' t ____________«,«»»,___ The death, took place in Edinburgh suddenly of Mr. Richard Vary Campbell, advocate, Sheriff ' "of Roxburgh, Berwick, and Selkirkshire. Deceased had a large practice at the Scottish Bar, and at the Home Rule split he unsuccessfully contested the College Division of Glasgow against , Sir Charles Cameron. ' «
