THE TWEEFONTEIN ATTACK.
A BRITISH FORCE NEARLY AMBUSHED. (Received January .6, 11.29 p.m.) London, January G. Major-General Ruiidle, with the Grenadier Guards and the Staffordshires, was three miles. north of Tweefontein at the time of De Wet's attack. He sent the Staffordshires to Colonel Firman's assistance. They were nearly ambushed, but regained the camp with small loss.
