LEAGUE OF WHEELMEN.

[BY TELEGRAPH. — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Gukistohuhch, Monday. A meeting of the council of the League of New Zealand Wheelmen was held to-day. The Premier replied to the league's application for a grant towards next year's championship meeting, that he regretted being unable to hold out hope that any vote would be passed this session. The Auckland centra asked the council's ruling as to whether task and amateur riders could compete together in a road race. It was decided to reply that the league had no jurisdiction over road races, only stipulating that its amateurs in winning such must accept trophies as prizes. The secretary was instructed to again write to the New South Wale* Cyclists' Union as to date and place «i this year's championships.
