London, October 16. The newspaper Pioneers Cabul correspondent states that the late Ameer, after suffering a paralytic stroke, summoned his family and notables to his bedside on September 28. and asked them to make suggestions as to his successor. They nominated Habibullah. The late Ameer then presented him with his sword-belt of precious stones and his will, containing instructions how to govern. He then ordered his younger sons to place the crown on Habibullah's head. The late Ameer died on October 1, but his death was not announced until October 3, to enable Habibullah to arrange for a peaceful accession.
