PAKURANGA HUNT CLUB.
The members of the Pakuranga Hunt Club = met: on Saturday at Sylvia ; Park; and the following .was a . large ; one.' After; a little ~ delay the hounds gave tongue \ on the slope of the mountain, ;■ and were seen running up , ■ the elope; in full cry of : a fine.hare;..j The , quarry doubled back towards the river, and an exciting run followed, lasting well nigh , half-an-hour: After taking a lead through the surrounding paddocks the hare worked . her way back towards the starting point, and a brief respite occurred at the stockyard, on the mountain side. Here the hounds ) di- , vided, ■'■ and one lot, in charge of the hunts-
man's whip, were seen speeding, away in the direction of Otahuhu, where the quarry cried quits. This was the only run of any length, and amongst the few who • were in > at the death -were: Misses Gorrie (2), and Messrs. Blocmfield, Lewis, Burns, Ben Myers, and McLaughlin. This was the only kill of the day, and these members retracing their steps rejoined the huntsman, who worked the paddocks around the mountain. *; Two", or three minor rwins followed, but the rain setting in, a move was made to the residence of the master (Mr. J. G. Ralph), where the members wore hospitably entertained. During the arfternoon Messrs. Board and Kinlock, jun., met with nasty spills, and were disabled for a short period. Amongst the members present were Mesdames Moody, Crowe, and Kelly (Steeltrap), Misses Gorrie (2), Rae, Stribley, 0. Buckland, Messrs. Moody, Kinloch, Clark, Purchas (2), ■< Waller, Tonks, Crowe, Colonel Dawson (Ike), Ben Myers (Nil Desperandum), Gorrie,; Cavminer (Inaurangi), Board, Lewis (Tip), McLaughlin, Bloomfield, and Burns. Driving were Mesdames Morrin and party, Markbam and party, and Donald and party.
