FATAL ACCIDENT TO A HORSEMAN.

[hy telegraph.—press ASSOCIATION.] Napier, ' Friday. A man named Thomas Healy, who was riding home to Oakleigh, near Chcsterhope, from the races, was found dead this evening on the Pakowhai Road, opposite the Mahara Creamery. A boy naumd James Thompson, who was travelling, to Hastings, passed a riderless horse galloping along the road, and some distance further on came upon a man lying by the wayside in a pool of blood. He examined the body, and concluded the man was dead, so lie rode to lllistings and gave information to the police. Assistance was immediately sent, and the body brought to Hastings, whjre an inquest will be held to-morrow. Deceased, who was a married man with two children, had only left his brother John about 20 chains from where lie was picked lip. There is no information as to how the accident happened..
