NEW ZEALAND DAIRY ASSOCIATION.
[BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, Friday. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Daily Association it was unanimously resolved to congratulate Sir John McKenzie on the great honour conferred on him, and hoping that his health will so benefit as to allow him to enjoy the honour, and to benefit the colony by further services. It was resolved to combine with the North Island Association, with a view to taking united action to procure a reduction in ocean freights. It was decided to take into consideration the matter of the regular shipments of butter. Mr. Kinsella, Dairy Commissioner, drew attention to tho unsatisfactory condition, of a good deal of the cheese which arrived in Wellington coastwise for shipment. After discussion a motion for grading at factories instead of the port of shipment was withdrawn, and further consideration postponed. It was resolved that the association approve of the Government taking steps at once to inspect all dairies, as suggested last year. It was decided to approach the Government with a view to securing, the exemption of dairy factories and dairy people from the provisions of the Workers' Compensation for Accidents Act.
