[by telegraph.—press ASSOCIATION.] AVangantji, Friday. A Maori girl, 14 years of age,.died on Tuesday at- a native settlement 15 miles from W&ngottui as the! 'result of burns. She was wanning herself before the fire at the Kauangaroa school when her clothes caught fire. She ran outside, followed by the teacher and others, but before the fire could be put out nearly all her clothes were burnt off. 'Hie body was burned all over, and the girl died several hours after as a result of the shock.
