BANKRUPTCY.
Yesterday William Nelson Gamble, commercial traveller, of Auckland, filed a petition in bankruptcy. In his sworn statement the debtor set forth that, he was a married man, with two children. His income was £225 i- .'•:• annum. The immediate, cause of Jus tiling was the lion of 10 New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited.)—the old company— threatening to '- M action to recover £1000 , , for '-ills on bo shares, which debtor took up nine or 10 years tee, at different times. These shares he bought at art avenge of £4 per share, and the culls were equal to £22 10s per share. He had made tepeatod offers of compromise, but without avail. He had no other creditors. He had no assets whatever, the household furniture and effects belonging to his wife lie could not see Ins way to .set aside any portion of his income.
