(BY telegraph.— correspondent.] Paehoa, Friday. The .settlers about Paeroa and Thames Valley are evidently determined to work on the co-operative principle, and the recentlyctnu.tnii ted co-operative society bids fair to be .i great, success. Mr. Townsend, Government dairy expert, has just paid a visit to the district, and at Oinalai attended a meeting of settlers at which the directors oi the co-operative society were present, lie addressed the meeting, and strongly advised co-operation. Fourteen of those present took up 264 shares in the new society, and Mr. Elliott generously donated half an acie of land adjoining the school at Oinahir as a site for the creamery. A special vote of thanks was accorded Mr. Elliott for his splendid gift. At Pterin 138 shares have been taken' up and '100 cows' milk promised, .so that all round the prospect for a successful society is very promising.
