PRESBYTERIAN GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

[IIY TELEGRAPH. — PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wanoan ci, Tuesday. At the Presbyterian Assembly, the Advisory Board reported church extension grants for 1901 totalling £942.. It was decided to nominate no Moderator this year. The Rev. Campbell, ex-Moderator, reported regarding his visit to Sydney, and condolence to the King. The Rev. Conine was appointed to assist, the clerk. Reports of the treasurer and Examination Board were read and adopted. The Almanac Committee's report was read, and it was resolved to publish a booklet of Church information next year. A letter and an address was received from the local Ministers' Association, expressing high esteem of the Assembly, and knowing the Church's stand in the past, and recognising that the Church is in the vanguard of moral reform, the address prays for Divine blessing on the Church to withstand •sacerdotalism, to promote moral reform, and lead men to repentance. The address was received with gratitude, on the motion of Dr. Elmslie. The Chinese Mission report was read by the Rev. Stewart. Mr. Lite, missionary, continues his work among his fellow countrymen. There were no baptisms, but several were believed to be Christians. The finance of the mission was healthy.. The Rev. Ryburu read the report of the Temperance Committee, and emphasised the weight of Lord Roberts' appeal. The committee protested against licenses in the King Country. Temperance sermons .vere ordered for November. The auditors were re-elected. Votes of thanks to the office-bearers, and the congregation of St. Paul's for hospitality were carried. The Moderator, in his retiring address, thanked the members for their kindness in assisting him. At the conclusion, "God Be With You till We Meet Again" was sung, and the Assembly adjourned till the meeting in November at Dunedin.,
