It is expected that a decision will be arrived, at to-day by the committee of the Takapuna Jockey Club as -to the days on which their impending summer meeting will bo held. -

The Rotorua Jockey Club hold their annual race meeting on February 27. The following programme of events has been drawn up:—Hurdle Race of 25sbvs, one mile and a-half; Maiden Handicap of 15sovs, one mile; Cup of 40sovs, one mile and a-quarter; Hack Hurdle .Race of 12sovs, one mile and a-half; Pony Handicap of 12sovs, six furlongs; and Electric Handicap of 20sovs, six furlongs. The annual' meeting of ; the Puriri JockeyClub took place to-day under very unfavourr iable circumstances, 1 rain falling from the time * the races commenced to the finish,' which, had the effect of making the .course very heavy and muddy. There was an attendance - of about 250 spectators, and the varioun events passed off without any accidents-oc-curring. The following are the results': ; Maiden Handicap of 7sovs, seven furlongs: Lady Marmion, Bst ,121b, 1; Peeress, 9st, 2; - Viking, Bst 61b, 3. Three others started. ' Puriri Handicap Hurdles of 12sovs, one * mile and three-quarters: Reporter, lOst 21b, 1; Kate, 9st 71b, 2; Wawata, 9st 71b. 3. Four ' others started. Protests were lodged im- t-l mediately after the race against Reporter " and Kate for alleged 1 running at unregistered meetings. The stewards, after hearing ;the evidence, dismissed the protest against Reporter, but upheld tile one against Kate., : ".='' and disqualified her for the rest of the meeting, which gave "Waiwata second place. Puriri Cup of 20sovs, one mile and a-half: Hamoa, 7st 121b, 1; Peeress, 7st 71b, 2; Lightning. 7st 121b, 3. Two others started. ■ Settlers' Plate of 6sovs, one mile and a- * quarter: Tiki Queen, 7st 31b, 1; Florrie,7st 71b, 2; Maoriland, 6st 71b, 3. Only one I other horse started. A. protest was lodged against Tiki Queen for alleged running inside :'a\ post, but the stewards, after having taken evidence and visiting the spot where the alleged inside running was said to have taken place, decided not to sustain the protest. , Stewards' Handicap of Bsovs, six furlongs: Castroline, 9st 121b, 1; Reportei, 7st Mb. V 2; Lightning, Bst 21b, 3. These were the only starters. Pony Handicap of 7sovs, one mile: My Lord, Bst 101b, 1; Cora, Bst, 2. Four others' started. -- Consolation Handicap of ssovs, six furlongs : Peeress, 1; Castroline, 2. Lightning ? and Reporter also ran. ALEXANDRA RACING CLUB. On - Saturday the annual meeting of the Alexandra Racing Club was ■ held in Mrs. Finch's hotel, Pirongia. Mr. J. W. Gawi presided, and there was a good attendance of members. Tho hon. secretary (Mr. E. H. Aubin) read the balance-sheet, whioh showed a credit balance of £23 0s 3d. A committee was appointed to consider the advisability of erecting a grandstand, to ascertain cost,' and other particulars.
