The onlv business was the presentation of the report ox the committee set up to report on the Hamilton traffic bridge. The report was as follows:—After reading the report of the Lands and Survey Department, it was unanimously resolved that in view of the report from the Department this committee is of opinion that a new bridge should t« erected rather than repaii the old structure, and that the bridge should be the same width as the present one, 18ft, as a bridge of less width would not meet the requirements of the traffic. The committee recommend, farther, that a conference of chairmen of contributing bodies be called to arrange foi. a deputation to wait upon the Hon. Mr. Ward, and place the matter before him on the occasion of his visit, and that the town clerk write an.l endeavour to arrange a date for the chairmen to meet the Mayor and discuss the line of action to be taken by the deputation." The report was adopted. TE AWAMUTU. A MEETING of the executive of the Waikato Liberal Federation was held in the Te Awamutu Town Hall on Wednesday. All the executive were present. I* was decided to request the Minister for Hallways to consider the urgent necessity for a railway siding at Lake Road, near Ohaupo. It was alsj decided to ask that arrangements may b« made for a later train on the usual sale dayi at Ohaupo and Hamilton, as under the pre sent arrangements farmers attending a salt from Te Awamutn and intermediate station! are compelled to leave before the conclusioi of the sales; also, to ask improvement in thi service connecting the King Country with Wai kato. Arrangements were made to entertain Messrs. Seddon, Ward. Hall-Jones, Duncan, and Cadman at a banquet on the occasion <i their approaching visit to Te Awamutn. It was aIBO decided to unite with the Waikato Farmers' Club in urging the free carriage of manure. A post, office is to be opened at Rangiaohia. on December 1. The official name of the office will be Hairini. Mails will be exchanged daily with Te Awamutu.
