HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY'S SHOW.

The annual summer exhibition of the Auckland Horticultural Society, combined with the children's flower show, which opens in the Choral Hall this afternoon, promises to be a great success. The record number of 1228 exhibits, entered by no fewer than 948 exhibitors, has been received. Judges are requested to be in attendance at the hall between the hours of half-past twelve and one p.m., so that judging may be well advanced, if not completed, by the hour of opening (half-past two). A special tram service from Pomsonby will run for the convenience of visitors. A special attraction is announced in the way of music, Messrs. Marriage's Rand being engaged for both afternoon and evening. The society deserve every encouragement, and it is to be hoped that their coffers will be largely replenished by a r'ecaec attendance of the public,.
