I AUCKLAND SHAREMARKET. The market was quiet on Saturday. In investment lines, National Banks had sale at 68s 3d, with further, buyers at 67s 6d, no sellers quoting. In mining lines, Kapowais sold at 10£ d,. with more offered at same price, no buyers inquiring. Kuranui Caledonians had sellers at lOd, buyers Bd. May Queen Hauraki sellers, at Is, were met by buyers at Bd. Sellers of Monowais asked 2s 6d, buyers Is 9d. In Upper Thames lines, Waihi Extendeds changed hands at 2s 9d and 2s lOd, with more sellers at latter price, buyers at 2s Bd. Waihi Souths were done at Is and lid, with further inquiry at 10£ d, sellers Is. There were buyers of Chelmsfords at Is lOd, sellers 2s. Waitekauris eased to 41s, with buyers at 395. In Barrier lines, Barrier Reefs were done at 13s 9d. with further buyers at same price, sellers 14s 6d. In Coromandel and other lines late prices ruled. \ WAIHI G.M. CO. (LIMITED). THIRTY-FIRST DIVIDEND DECLARED. The Waihi Gold Mining Company (Limited) have declared another dividend (the 31st) of 2s 6d pei share, payable at the office of the company on December 1. In the report of the company's recent return for October, published in Saturday's Herald, an error appeared, which made »the value per ton of the ore treated £2 Is, whereas the figures should have been £2 9s per ton. NEW WHAU G.M. CO. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN' CORRESPONDENT.] Thames, Saturday. In the New Wliau Gold Mining Company's mine the repairs to the road leading thereto are now so far advanced that the manager (Mr. Jobe) proposes making a start on Monday to forward quartz for a crushing at the May Queen Hauraki Company's battery. The intention is to crush fully 60 loads of quartz on this occasion. MAY QUEEN EXTENDED G.M. CO. [BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Thames. Saturday. During the early part of the past week a breaking down of the Hokianga reef, in the rise above the western drive, at the low level, of the May Queen Extended Gold Mining Company's mine, took place, with the result that strong colours of gold were seen in the ore, the reef averaging about 18in in thickness. Since then the rise has been carried up to a height of about 14ft, but no further breaking of the reef has taken place. That work will probably eventuate in the early part of the ensuing ! week. The extension of the western drive, on the same reef, at the low level, has also been resumed, but so far operations have been confined to stripping. A good class of country encases the reef in both the rise and drive, and the manager is hopeful of getting on to payable ore soon at both points. MINING machinery. [by TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Paeroa, Saturday. Quite a large amount of mining machinery has arrived here during the past day or two. Amongst the plant are about 20 tons for the Woodstock Gold Mining Company, whilst to-day Mr. Whewell. forwarding agent, sent to Waikino a new locomotive, weighing about eight tons, for the Waihi Gold' Mining Company. COAL FOR THF MINES. [BY TELEGRAPH.OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Paeroa, Saturday. The Waihi Grand Junction Gold Mining Company has been very lively during the past few days, and at the present time eight scows are lying at the riverside unloading 1 coal. The quantity consumed in the Oliine- j muri district is something enormous now, "the Waihi and Union Companies alone taking 50 tons pei week. The immense quantity of drift running has interfered with dredge's on the Kawarau, and the Meg and Annie only reported their return. Although rain fell on Saturday, the weather was cold, and the rivers are not expected to rise, as snow would not come away.
Greymouth, Saturday. The return from the Grey River dredge was 390z for 110 hours' work. The river remains high.
