Scott beat Turnbull, five up and j four to play: Todd beat Darling, four up | and two to play; Winslow, scratched; Scott I beat Sykes, eight up and six to play; Maci noil beat McEwan, two up: Burt beat HarI man, four up and two to play: Duncan beat Macgregor, four up and two to play: Stilling beat Harman at the 19th hole; Holmes beat Jackson, three up and ono to play; Lei eh beat Brown, three up and two to play. The weather was beautifully fine, but at four p.m. a very heavy rain squall came over the links. Winslow, of Auckland, did not arrive in time. Sykes was off his game altogether. O'Rorke is playing. Gillios beat McEwan, the Otago champion, after a fine struggle. Gillies was fivo up at the 7th holo. The Bth was grandly halved in four, and thereafter two holes were halved in four and six respectively. McEwan stuck splendidly to his opponent, and won the 12th and 13th, during a hailstorm, in fours to his opponent's fives. Gillies slipped on tho 14th tee, and got in a hazard, but made a grand half in four, lying dead with his mashio shot. At tho 15th Gillies holed in four, and won the match. The first round of the Auckland Ladies' Golf Club championship was played at Green Lane yesterday afternoon, when Mrs. W. B. Colbeck beat Miss ohuttleworth by three holes up and one to play: Miss L. Gillies accounting for Miss M. Wilkins by six up and four to play. Tho second round will bo played to-day, when somo interesting matches will be decided. '
