London, April 14. - One thousand of the enemy with eight guns, two pom-poms, and two Maxims, surrounded Colonel Dalgetty, who made a gallant resistance. The shell and rifle fire were continuous from Tuesday to Thursdays The British, artillery fire was terrific. Colonel Dalgetty, by means of it sortie, captured a Boer gun. Lord Roberts reports that the enemy's movement south is checked. Wepener is still surrounded, but is resisting well. Troops are now advancing to assist. Remounts and supplies are rapidly reaching Lord Roberts. The health of the troops at Bloemfontein is good and the climate perfect. Major-General Chermside has occupied Reddersburg.
