■»- v [dt telegraph.— COBBESPOSBENT.] Thames, Tuesday. It is understood that Mr. J. M. Foy will contest the Thames Mayoralty against Mr. E. J. Greenslade, the present Mayor. The House Committee of the Thames Hospital meets to-morrow, for the purpose of selecting a successor to fill Dr. Williams position as resident surgeon. It is understood that about a dozen applications ha\o been received for the position. The six-year-old son of Adjutant Bundle, of the Salvation Army, narrowly escaped very serious injury this evening by coming into too close contact with a methylated spirit lamp. As it was he was severely burnt about the face and hands, and his injuries had to be attended to by Dr. Lapraik.
