CROWN LANDS BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the Crown Lands Board was held at the Government Buildings, Custom-street West, yesterday, Mr. Gerhard Mueller, Crown Lands Commissioner, in the chair. There were also present: Messrs. Lundon and Ronsliaw. Lands Disposed Of: The summary of lands disposed of from September 23 to October 21 was as follows:—Occupation with right of purchase, 2439 acres; leases in perpetuity, 843 acres; for cash, 1746 acres; other leases, 76 acres: total, 5204 acres. Roads: On application the Board sanctioned the expenditure of " thirds" on roads to sections 8, 9, 10, Block 11., Tauhara survey district, East Taupo. Timber Flotage Licenses; The application of W. Trenstahi, for the removal of his timber-flotage licenses over the Waikaro River, was granted. Similar applications from E. R. Cardno over the Taheke, Punakitere, and other rivers, and the Wnitcmata Sawmill Company, over the Waikaro and Papakauri streams, were granted, undor certain conditions. Expenditure of " Thirds": Schemes fori the expenditure of " thirds" were received from the following local bodies:—Waipu North Road Board, Upper Mahurangi Road Board, Otamatea County Council, Bay of Islands County Council, Mainene Road Board. The schemes were approved. Transfer: The application of Jas. Darrow, for permission to transfer his timber and sawmill license in Block IV., Katikati, was approved. Reservations: On applications the following reservations were approvedSection 1, Block XII., Pirongia, 353 acres, primary education; section 15, Block XV., Pirongia, 3 acres 2 roods, cemetery reserve; section 16, Block XVI., Pirongia, 10 acres, school site; section 21, Block 11., Hukatere, 2 acres 3 roods 30 perches, cemetery reserve; section 111., Parish of Mangapai, 165 acres 2 roods, primary education endowment. The proposal to set apart 960 acres in Blocks VI., VII., and XI., Purua survey district, as a kauri gum reserve for the Kaitara settlement, was also approved. Vesting "Reserves: The chairman of the ICatikati Road Board wrote asking that all reserves in that district be vested in that Board. Resolved to vest the unloosed reserves in the Tauranga County Council. For Road Purposes: The Waitemata County Council applied for lot 120, Parish of Waikumete (Crown land). The application was approved, the land to bo reserved for road purposes..
