PHILADELPHIA CONGRESS.
By Telegraph.—Press Association.Copyright, New York, October 18. The addresses of the Australasian delegates were well received at the Philadelphia Commercial Congress. Colonel Bell, American Consul, in Sydney, eulogised the business capacity and integrity of the men of Australasia.
Mr. Reeves predicted a closer relation between Canada and New Zealand, especially if federated Australia declined to enter into trade reciprocity with New Zealand. Sir Edward Clarke, the Victorian Agent-General, and the New South Wales delegates, described the resources of their colonies.
