[BT TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Lvvekcargill, Monday. Alex. Forsyth, a single man, 45 years of age, was thrown from his horse at Hedgehope this morning, and killed, his neck being broken. It appears that, lie was breaking in a young animal, and the saddle girth parted. Dunedix, Monday. At the Conciliation Board the secretary of the Seamen's Union reported that they were unable to agree with the shipowners as to the scope of the agreement. The Board reported that they were unable to bring the parties together, the result of which is that the dispute now goes before the Arbitration Court.

According to the wife, she assaulted her husband, and so far from having the sight of her eye destroyed, it had been blind for 20 years. Under these circumstances the case was dismissed.
