OHINEWRI COUNTY COUNCIL
[by telegraph.—own correspondent.] j/AEitoA, Thursday. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Ohinomuri County Council was held this afternoon, tliero being present: Messrs. Cock (chairman), Boler, McGruei, Moore, Shaw, and McClelland. Tho following tenders were accepted: —Widening Earl of Glasgow's track, Karangaliake, No. 1 contract, John Cochrane, £270 Bs. Widening Earl of Glasgow's track, No. 2 contract, N. Stewart, £119. Cutting toatroo between Brukloy's Bridge and Waifcoa Butt, 9d per chain. Extension of Karangahake wat/e. supply, J. M. Davis, £36. Building a bridge and approaches over the Union Greek, Waitekauri, E. H. Harvey, £123 19s. Forming and grading portions ot Gilmour, Union, and Rao Streets, Waihi, McGrath and Slovin, £106. The engineer's # report dealt with various improvements required. Regarding a petition fo» water supply at Mackaytown, he estimated the cost at £574, and after discussion, the Council decided to write to the Minister for Mines asking for a special grant of £600 for extension of water supply at Karaugahake and Mackaytown.
