[BY TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATION.] Hokitika, Thursday, The Supremo Court closed to-day, and tho judge loaves for Christchurch to-morrow morning. In the case Matthews against Harris, damages for misrepresentation on tho salo of farming property, the jury awarded £300 damages. In tho libel ease, Northcroft, editor of tho West Coast Times, against Mr. Bevan, district grand master of the English Constitution Freemasons, through tho publication of a Masonic circular referring to the plaintiff, the jury found for the plaintiff on all the counts, publication, malice, and absence ol justification, and awarded £250 damages. The defendant applied for a non-suit against the judge's ruling of law as to the publication.
