THE MYERS CASE.
[by telegraph.—press association.] Wellington, Wednesday. •Joseph Myers was this morning further committed for trial on charges of alleged forgery of the name 01 N. Fern and os to promissory notes. Bail was allowed. After the .Myers case finished, .T. I'. Mills, whose name has been constantly mentioned in the evidence, and who was alleged by the accused to have procured the cheque supposed to be signed by Mr. Skerrett, was allowed to give evidence. He said ho had had transactions with Myers, but not since May 25, 1697. He had never been asked by Myers to get Mr. Skerrett to oblige them with his name, and had never got any security 01 endorsement from him that had anytliing to do with Myers.
