[by teliobaph.—tress association.] Wellington. Friday. Regarding the marine dispute, it is stated that the employers take strong objection to tho clause that sea watches should count as a portion of the eight hours' work per day. Messrs. Huddart, Parker,, and Co. are uot joined in the dispute, as no' Wellington union men are on their boats. (BY TELEQRAFH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington, Friday. _ With a view to the sitting of the Arbitration Court the employers will file the necessary papers to justify their reduction of the wages of trimmers, firemen, greasers, etc., by 10s a month. It) transpires that the employers were willing to conti&e working upon the old award. To this the men reply that the masters have stipulated conditions to which the Seamen's Union could not agree. The masters say that the condition of trade does not justify the demand made by the union. They will oppose the whole of the clauses submitted by the men when the case comes before the Arbitration Ccurt.
Tho Amalgamated Society of Carpenters and Joiners have failed to settle their dispute with Messrs. Allen, Mognire, Priddv, and Muir. They intend to take their case Uioro the Arbitration Court.
