[BY TELEeiur-H.-rHESB ASSOCIATION.] Timaiiu, Thursday. Mn. JotiN Stoiirier, iron founder.addressed a meeting of the electors of Timaru this evening, as a candidate for the next general election. He announced himself as an Independent Liberal, and severely criticised the present Ministry and system of partyGovernment. He was in favour of an elective Executive, and would reduce tiro tariff on necessaries, remove the poverty test from the old ago pensions, and put a stop to Mate aid to gold mining, as, on the whole, a profitable industry. In reply to a question, ho stated that he favoured a State bank.
