Komata Reefs were wanted at 3s. but shareholders were not disposed for business on these terms. Several sales of Talismans at 13s 6d were reported, and at closing time there was a tendency to more business, sellers quoting 13s 9d. and buyers 13s 4d. Offers for Waihis rose to £5, but in the afternoon there were no shares in the market. IMPERIAL G.M. CO.

Tenders were recently called by the Imperial Gold Mining Company for driving what is supposed to be the main reef intersected in the low level crosscut on their property. The tenders on being received were considered too high, and instructions have been sent to the manager of the mine to carry on the work for a month with wages men. At the end of that period the directors will decide as to the manner in which the remainder of the work should be carried out.

BUNKER'S HILL G.M. CO.

The following telegram was received in Auckland yesterday from the manager at the Bunker's Hill mine: "181b specimen stone from tin leader going north." 11l his last report dated Saturday last, Mr. Moorcraft. the mine manager, stated that while taking down the leader in the rise nice colours of gold were seen, and the country continued favourable. Active development work,is going 011 in other parts of the mine. A second stope has been carried along 23ft northward from the rise, and the leader is reported to be looking well in this part of the mine. The drive north has been extended 62ft from the crosscut. The lender here is 9in in width, and shows colours of gold freely, while the character of the country indicates that as this face advances the leader will become more collective, and an improved class of ore will be obtained. A contract for driving a surface tunnel 100 ft. has been let with the object of prospecting the southern portion of the property, and of' intersecting the reef at present being worked in the low level.

Our Coromandel correspondent, telegraphing last night, says: To-day's breakingdown produced 181b of specimens, and indicates that the vein at present being worked npoi. is very rich. The gold was obtained in the northern drive, that is in the direction of the Hauraki Freehold property. The golden stone obtained to-day should approximately be worth nearly £100. As the leader is further operated on somewhat similar results may reasonably be anticipated from lime to time. The new drive initialed last week will attack tlip vein :tl a higher level, and afford splendid ventilation fioni one end or the mine to the other, a* well as !iivh.<: greater facilities for developing the mine.
