THE GAMING AND LOTTERIES ACT.
[nr TELEGRAPH.OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Thames, Tuesday. At the Police Court to-day, before Mr. R. S. Bush, S.M., two bookmakers, named A. E. Glover and Jas. Glover, were charged with having, on December 26 last, on the Parawai racecourse, made a bet with one Watna Hogg, knowing him to be a minor, contrary to the Gaming and Lotteries Act. Accused pleaded not guilty, but after the hearing of evidence the Bench held the case proved, and fined the defendants £2, and costs £2 6s 6d. In a similar charge against the same defendants, for betting with one Bertie Anderson, they were fined £2 each, and £1 Os 6d costs.
