Christchdrch, Thursday. The Board of Conciliation sat to-day to consider matters in dispute in the painting trade. Evidence was taken, but as the chairman of the Hoard i:; absent in the North Island the Hoard reserved its recommendations until his return. To-morrow the Board will deal with the cases of the employers in the boot trade who are not working under the award of the Court of Arbitration, /' ' Dunedin, Thursday. The order of reference has been filed in the dispute between the Federated Tailorcsses' Association and the master tailors, which is to come before the Conciliation Board on the 16th inst. A minimum wage of 25s per week is asked for machinists.
