M.H.R., thonjrh a stubborn tighter in politics, is one of the warmest lifted men in the House, or out of it for the matter of that. Burin" various Parliamentary sessions he hue shown tho visiting Opposition members many little kindnesses. In token of this, and of Mr. Duthie's many good qualities, the Opposition, as a body, met this evening, and presented him with a silver salver, on which was this simple inscription: " John Duthio, M.H.R., from his confreres in the Opposition, 1898, in appreciation of many kindnesses." The presentation was made by tho Leader of the Opposition, and Mr, Duthio returned thanks in a kindly and sympathetic speech.
