RAILWAY CONSTRUCTION IN THE SOUTH.
[K TELEGIUI-H.-rEESS ASSOCIATION.] m ~ Wellington, Monday. The Public Works Department have received instructions to proceed at once with the constructing of the railway between Blenheim and the Awatere, a distance of about 15 miles. The work is to be carried out on the co-operative principle, under the supervision ol Mr. h J. Harding, at present assistantengineer for the Public Works Department at Hunterville. The terminus will be about the centre of the Starborough Estate recently purchased by the Government for close settlement.
