There was a good muster«of members at the Albert-street baths last evening to witness the opening' competitions of the 'season. Three handicap events were disposed of with results as follows:— Three-lengths Handicap (108 yds). —First heat: H. J. Bailey scratch, G. A. Tyler 35., M. Scott 45,, A. Tilly, 10s. Result: IM. Scott, 895., 1; H. J, Bailey, 81s., and G. A. Tyler, 84a.,' swam a'dead heat for second place. Second heat: F. A.-Hedges 25., J. Percival 33.,' P. J. Bailey. 45.; and J. Russell 89; Result: J. Russell, 89 4-53., 1; F. A.' Hedges, 875., .2. The first and second in each heat - swim off to-morrow evening at half-past five p.m., same course. , 1 Two Lengths (72yds) Boys' Race.—Starters: E. O'Hare scratch, W. Hollister scratch, A. Reid 25., J. W. Russell 55., R. Bell ss. ' Result: R. Bell, 'CO 255,, proved an easy winner; B. O'Hare. 565., was second. : Back Swim (36yds).—Starters: J. A.
