TRAINING SHIP FOR NEW ZEALAND.
(by telegraph.— ASSOCIATION,] Christchurch, Thursday. A public meeting held last evening carried the following resolutions unanimously 11 That in the opinion of this meeting it would be in the interests of this colony to establish a training ship for the purpose of opening up the nautical profession to the youth of New Zealand, and that a committee be at once appointed to devise the best means of giving effect to the resolution," A strong committee comprising members of the Chambers of Commerce and Navy Leaguo was appointed.
