Contrary to expectation, a number of New South Wales Mounted Rifles arranged to participate in the Dublin Military Tournament, and won. several events against the pick of the army in Ireland. The New South Wales Mounted Rifles were successful in the following;Team wrestling for sergeants, Sergeant McAllister's team; tent-pegging for sergeants, Serjeant McAllister; tent-pegging for privates, Private Gribble; Victoria Cross contest, Private Bridges.

. Mr. Goschen has made arrangements for the colonial troops to witness the naval review.
