HAWERA, KAKARAMEA, AND ELTHAM.
Mkssrs. Nolan. Toxks, and Co. report oa April 25:—At Kakaramea, on 15th iust., the weather wa» exceptionally wet, yet we had a good entry of stock, and also a good sale. At Eltham, oa 20th inst, we had a fair muster of cattle, but bidding throughout was slack. Our fortnightly eile at Hawera, on the 22nd inst., was well patronised, but inquiry for cattle was not great, consequently some of the older classes retnrned unsold. We quote:—At Kakaramea: Yearling steers, £1 10s; 2 to 2J-year steers, £2 & to £214 a; weaners, 19s to £1 Is; 2}-year heifers in calf. £117s to £2; springers, £4 to £4 ss. At Elthsm: Fat cows, £3 5s to £3 15s; Btore cowes, £116s to £2 2a; fresh cows, £210 a; springers, £3 Jsa to £4 15s; yearling to 18 months steers, £114s to £2: weaners, 16s 6d to 19s; calves, 8s to 123. At Hawera : Fat cows, £3 3s to £3 10a; store cows. £118 a to £2 Is; fresh cows, £27» 6d; springers, £3 11s to £4; 2-year heifers, 27s to 31s; yearling heifers, 18s to 22a; yearling steers, £110 ato £115s; 2-year steers, £2 3s to £2 7'; 2J-year steers, £211s to £2 15s; weaners, 15a to 225; calves, 10s to 149. Sheep: Aged ewes in lamb, 5s 3d to 5s 10d; culled ewes, 3s; la.nbs, 4s; forward wethers, 83.
