AUCKLAND,

MESSRS. HUNTER AND SOLAN'S WEEKLY REPORT. Hohse feed, grain, seed: The supply has not been large, particularly of maize, but the demand has been inactive; but oats hare advanced in value. We quote: Maize on wharf 83 6d bushel, ex store 2» lid to 33; feed oats, 23 7d to 2s 8d ; seed oats, 2a 9d to 2s 10d ; bran, £3 15s ton; oaten chaff, £2 5s to £212s 6d in trade lots; small parcels, £3 ss; Poverty Bay rye grass, 5s to 6s 6d bushel; Southern rye grass, 4s 6d to ss; local, 3a 6d to 4s; cocksfoot, 5s 10d to 7s. Horses: A great many were brought forward, but the demand was slow and-'sales at vendors' values difficult to effect, the previous week's prices being barely sustained. An unusually large number was entered for disposal by auction at the Durham Yards on Friday; bidding was brisk for those of an exceptionally good stamp, but languid for the principal number of those submitted. We quote: Heavy draught, £15 to £25; medium draught, £12 to £18 10s; light harness, £4 to £9 10s ; hacks, £3 103 to £9 los; weeds, £1 to £2. Wool, hides, skius, tallow, bones: In consequence of an unusually large number of hides having been brought forward values receded slightly, which was more perceptible m the lighter kinds. We quote:—Extra stout ox hides, 6d to 7d; stout ox, 4sd to 5Jd; steers, 3|d to 4d; cow, 31d to 3|d; calfskins, 4d to 4|d; bones, £3 10s ton tailow, Us to 14s 6d cwt; sheepskins, heavy, 4s to 5s 9d each ; ordinary skins,ls 8d to 3s 10d; pelts, lid to Is 6d. Wool: Several bales and bags of greany fleece, mostly of a rough description, 4}d to &Jrl lb; washed merino, Gijd; washed crossbred, 7jfd; locks and pieces, washed, 5Jd: lainbswool in grease, 4id to 5Jd; pieces, 3d to 4Jd; locks, ljd to 2£d. Sales of stock, farming implements, etc., were held over on Saturday at Mr. Jones', Buckland, on Monday, a very large one at Mr. Alassey, sen's, Mangere, and on Wednesday at Mr. John Kennedy's, Buckland, at all of which the attendance was large, bidding spirited, and fully central market rates were given. Cattle : A steady demand has continued at the previous week's values, and the number brought forward sufficient for requirements. At the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday the butchers' pens were well rilled, and competition steady throughout the sale. We quote: Ox beef, 16s 6d to 17s 6d 1001b, cow 153 to 16s. Steers ranged from £5 7s 6d to £8 each; fat cows, £3 to £510s; springers, £3 to £610s; dry cows, £15s to £2 10s. Sheep : The Newmarket pens were well filled on Tuesday. Competition was good, but the previous week's values were barely sustained. Wethers sold from 9s 6d to Ms each, ewes 6* 6d to 11s, lambs 4s 3d to 9s. Pigs: Scarce, sold well. Prices ranged from 203 to 40s each.

MESSRS. ALFRED BDCKUND AND SONS , REPORT. At the Haymarket straw has brought from 129 to £1 load; meadow hay, 2s &1; oateu sheaves, 2s 6d to 3s owt; maize, 2s 10d; oats, 2s 5d to 2a 8d; wheat, 4s 3d bushel: pressed hay, £3 10s; guano, £3 10s; chaff, £3 5s con; maize on wharf, 2s 8d bushel. On Friday draft horses, fully represented, scarcely kept late values. Medium draft, equal to any farm work, brought from £12 10a to £15; heavy draft, £20 to £33 each. On Tuesday hides offered in full numbers; heavy hides improved on last week's market, and brought trom 4?d to 5Jd; cow and light ox at last week's values, 3d to3£d; calfskins, in demand, and brought from i\A to 5d lb; tallow, from 10d to 14s 6d cwt; fat, Id lb; dried pelts, 10d to 3s 4d; butchers' skins, Is lid to 3s 4d; lambskins, Is Gd to 3s each; wool, 5J.1 lb. At Pukekohe on Monday cattle yarded in moderate number, were without alteration in value; dairy cows brought from £4 to £6: fat cattle, up to £7 ss; calves, from 15s to 31s each.

At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cattle were in better inquiry; prices for those at profit ranged from £4 to £6 2s 6d each. Store cattle yarded numerously; choice bred from Motutapu were fairly competed for; all others were at lower values. Young and fat calves in less than usual number. Small calves fully kept their late values, but heavy calves were lower in price; 54 sold. Fat cattle in full supply, sold irregularly, and on the whole were at lower values, particularly cows. Prices for steers were from 15s to 17» 6d; cows, 12s to 14s the 1001b; 257 sold. Sheep in full numbers, buc a large proportion stores, fully kept last week's quotations; 1300 sold. The lambs advertised brought from 5s 6d to 6s 3d each; 458« old. Pigs numerous, mostly young and well bred, kept late values. Growing pigs brought from 8s to 16s; porkers, 18s to £1 10s each; heavy pigs, £22seach; 110 sold.

MES3BB. 0. \V. BINNEY AND SONS' REPORT. On Tuesday hides sold freely, Stout ox very firm, but light ox and cow are easier. Ordinary lines of good cow sold from to 3^l; a few exceed this price. Ox, picked, up to 7(1: extra stout, 5Jd to 6d; stout, 4il to 4|d; medium, 3Jd to 3f d ; calt, 3d to sd; stags, 2d to 2jd per lb. Sheepskins: Local green, from 2a Grl for medium, to 3s 6d; for large skins, lambs, 2s 6d to 3s 3d each, Country salted, from 2s to 4s 3d each. Tallow still dull, from 13s to 14s per owt. Fat, Jd to Id per lb. Bones, 75s Der ton. Cowtail hair, lOJrf to IOJd per lb. NEW ZEALAND LOAN AND MERCANTILE AGENOV COMPAKY (LIMITED). Auckland WeoL Stores, April 28. On Tuesday, 27th instant, we cleared a large and representative catalogue of hides and sheepskins to a fujl attendance of the trade. All classes meeting with ready sale at aslighfsulvanceon last week's prices. Hides: We quote prime stout ox,dirt to 63d; heavy stout ox, 4Jd to s|d; medium, ajtl to 41d; light, 3}d to 3Jil; well-conditioned cow, 3Ju; heavy cow. 3§d; sloppy, 3}d and 3|d; calfskins, sound, 4il to ad ; cut, 3d to 3jd; kip, 3id to Sjjd. Sheepskins: Butchers' green skins realised; small, 2s to 2s 6d; medium, 2s 9d to 3s 6d ; large, 3s 9d to 4s sil; dry, sound pelted, IM to 5d lb; double fleece to 6s Id. Wool: Small lots continue to come to hand. We sold crossbred at 6Jd; pieces, 3d.

Tallow, bones, horse-hair: Prices areuaclianged. All lots arriving find good competition. Oats: There is little alteration in the market. Good te best feed are worth 2s 4Jd to 2a 5Jd ex ship. Southern reports confirm the damage to the late harvested crops. Maize ia worth & 9d per bushel on wharf. Potatoes: Recent shipments have satisfied the market, which now rules at £315s per ton ex wharf, for jood table sorts, Manures and grass eeeds: The season is now drawing to a close. Some small sales are still passing at our late quotations.

PALMBRSTON NORTH.

Messrs. Abraham and Williams report on April 23:—At Levin, last Friday, a full entry of sheep came forward. Some of the pens were choice lots. Bidding was keen tlirtughout the sale, generally being in vendors'favour. Cattle in modeiate numbers ; steers were in demand, but female stock was neglected. Lambs, 4s to 4s lid; culls, 3s 3d; well-bred Lincoln lambs, 6s 7d; choice Lincoln ewes, 7s Id; store ewes, 3s 2tl to 4s 3d; store wethers, 6s lid to 7s 7d; forward ditto, 8s Id ; 3-year steers, £.'! 17a ; 18-months ditto, Sss to 47s 6d; 20-months ditto, £2 11s; good milkers, £5 to £5 11s. AtPahiatua, on Tuesday, the market was inanimate. Entries of both cattle and sheep were limited, more business being done privately than at auction. Ewes in forward condition, os 6d; sttre wethers (small) 5s 6d to (is 9(1; pood weauers, 16s 6d: others, 9a; las to 18-mouths steers, 31s and 35s respectively. AtPalmeretou yesterday sheep were in moderate supply. We cleared all but » portion of one lot of ewes, though mostly done privately. Cattle were numerous, and sold'pretty freely at unaltered values. . OKAIAWA AND MANAIA. The Egmoht Farmers' Union (Limited), Hawera, report on April 22:-Our monthly sale was held at Okaiawa on the 15th, but the wet weather waa much against us,'and only a email mutter of stock came in; so with slack bidding only a moderate amount of business wee done. We quote:— Fat and forward steers, £415s to £5 Is, 1J to 2-year steers, £215s to £3 ss; cows in calf, £215s to £310) ; store cows, £115s to £2 7s 6d jli to 2-year heifers, £15s to £115s.- We held our sale at Maoaia on the2lat inst. There was a fair entry of cattle, but business was dull throughout, and several of the lines returned home untold. We quote: li t« 2year steers, £115* to £2 6s; yearlings, mixed, £1 to £17s 6d; weanen, 8s to 13s 6d j store cows, £1 to £115 a; 18-months heifers, £1 2a 6dto£l7s6d. JOHNSONVILLE. Messrs. Freeman R. Jackson and Co., Johnionville, report April27th:-Only a limited number of cattle came forward. They were light, inferior bollocks. We had fair entry of good sheep, whiou sold at improved value.
