Sir,—l noticed in yesterday' 3 issue that the Harbour Board had decided to supply their foreman of works with a cycle Don't you think that it would be a good thing if the City Council provided their engineer and foreman of works with machines? They would then know what we cyclists have t« pnt up with. Their first run down Queen street would be sufficient to make them hesitate about proceeding farther, and if by chance they should reach the Kauri Timber Company's mill the jolting they would receive there would be enough to make them get off their machines and return them with thanks.
