THE JAMESON RAID COMMITTEE.

RHODES QUESTIONED BY LABOUCHERE. Press A«sociat|ou,-KUctricTeles;rapti.-Copjrlßlit. London, February 27. Before the House of Commons Enquiry Committee Mr. Laboucliere examined Mr. Cecil Rhodes, but his questioning was profitless. Mr, Rhodes was frank in his replies except where third parties were concerned, and he frequently turned the tables on his inquisitor, especially when, after reading Mr. Labouchere's speech on the Cretan question, he declared, "Your argument on that subjeot covers the Rand case." Mr, Rhodes detailed the Rand grievances, and acquitted Mr. Chamberlain of any knowledge of the intended raid. The meuibers of the Committee frequently laughed at Mr. Rhodes' successful replies.
