Owing to the railway strike passenger traffic on the North-eastern Railway is partly blocked. The company offers to confer with the men, but claims damages against the strikers. There is a prospect that the railway strike will aflecfc the collieries, besides paralysing trade, restricting food supplies, and doing immense damage to business generally. London, February 28. A temporary settlement of the railway difficulty has been arranged. The conference between the company and the men meets on the 12th of March to discuss the grievances of the latter.
