Craig, Auckland. The Union Company's steamer Poherua, Captain James Shepherd, arrived from the South yesterday with a cargo of general produce. The steamer left the Bluff on the 7th inst., and called at Oamaru, Timarn, Wellington and Gisborne, leaving the latter port at 4.30 a.m. on the 14th, and anchoring at the powder ground at 12.30 p.m yesterday, After putting out a quantity of explosives the steamer berthed at the Queen-street Wharf, and is to leave for Westport at noon . to-morrow. The Northern Company's steamer Wellington arrived from Whangarei last night, and leaves for the same place again to-night. H.M.s. Ringdove arrived at Sydney from Wellington yesterday. The Union Company's steamer Dingadee, Captain J. S. Adam'., arrived from Wellington and East Coast ports at 4.30 p.m. yesterday. Mr. H. E. Watts, the purser, reports that the steamer left Wellington at noon on the 9th instant, Napier on the 12th, and Gisborne on the 13th. Called at Tcdoga Baj "Waipare, Tokomaru Bay, Waipiro Bay, Tnparoa, Port Awanui, and Hick's Bay, and left the latter place at 3.20 p.m. on Wednesday, and arrived a3 stated. Experienced strong S.E. gale and heavy head sea from Wellington to Cape Palliser ; thence strong S.W. wind and heavy following sea to Cape Kidnappers; from Napier to arrival moderate S.W. winds and tine weather. October 15.—The barques Royal Tar and Norman McLeod, which were off the Heads yesterday, were blown off by the stroug north-west gate prevailing, but as the wind shifted to the South to-night, they should show up before daylight.
