The anniversary services of Bb. James , Church Presbyterian Sunday-school took place yesterday in Sb. James , Hall, when the Rer. G. B. Monro preached in the forenoon from the text, "The love of Christ constraineth us." The.Rev. .R. Maonicol conducted the afternoon service, when he gave an address to the scholars from the passage in Proverbs, "Now hearken unto me, 0 ye children, for blessed are they that keep ray ways." In the evening the Rev. R. Ferguson, of Onehunga, preached an appropriate discourse. The collections of the day were over £20. There was a large choir and the children sang special hymns. The hall was beautifully decorated with nikau palms, bannerettes, and mottoes, while the handsome banner of lihe school was displayed on the gallery wall, making the building bright and attracive. The annual anniversary in connection with the Mount Eden Congregational Church was held yesterday, the interior of bhe building being tastefully _ decorated with evergreens and flowers in season. Special services were held both morning and evening, thab of the forenoon being conducted by the Rev. W. J. Williaine, the texb being chosen from St. Paul's epiatle to the Romans, i., 15-17.. At the evening service the Rev. F. Warner officiated, and large congregations! were present on either occasion. The annual public meeting will be held tomorrow evening, when addresses will be delivered by the Revs. B. Rhodes and H. R. Dewsbury, and a number of bolos and instrumental items will be presented. The anniversary services of the Newmarkeb Wesleyan Sunday-school were held yesterday, and special sermons were preached in the morning by the Rev, H. R. Dewsbury and in the afternoon and evening by the Rev. A. Mitchell. Special hymns were sung, the children of the Blind Institute taking part. The tea meeting will be held on Wednesday evening, when addressee will be given by the circuit ministers and others, and special music will be sung by the children and choir. The usual evangelistic service was held laab evening in the City Hall. Mr. J. Douglac presided. The Rev. R. Ferguson, o£ Onehunga, delivered a stirring address from Isaiah It., 1. Miss Rimmer sang a couple of sacred solos.
