A circular has been issued by Ministers to the heads of departments, stating that for the future temporary clerks of twelve months standing in the Civil Service are to receive sick pay, and bo paid for holidays in the same way as those on the permanent list. In tho case of temporary clerks of less than twelve months'service being placed on the eiclc list, each case is to be judged 011 its merits. The arrivals in tho colony during January were 2314, and the departures 1339.
