London, March 18. Negotiations between Mr. Chamberlain and President Kruger for the settlement of the Transvaal dillieulty are still being carried on. Great Britain refuses to modify Article 4.
The decision of the Imperial Government to control the police and military has to a great extent removed the objections to the continuance of the Charter to the British South Africa Company. Capetown*, March 19. The Africander Congress demands an inquiry into Mr. Hofmeyer's charges against Cecil Rhodes of complicity in I Dr. Jameson's raid. An early session oi Parliament will bo held to discuss his conduct.
