DEATH UNDERN OPERATION.

[BT KIJCOHAPII.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Timabq, Thursday. An inquest was held at the Hospital last evening touching the death of George Keene, aged SO, who died whilst on the operating table. The evidence showed that Keene was admitted on tho previous day suffering from strangulation of the bowelof some standing. The only chance of saving life was an operation, and that was remote. He was almost) dying when curried to the operating room. A very small quantity of chloroform was administered, and on operative incision was just commenced when he died. A verdict of " Death from collapse ; no bl.irao attributable to the surgeons," was roturnod.
