On Thursday, the 12th, the Warkworth Race Club held the annual meeting in the Warkworth Hotel, the executive committeo havinc held a meeting a few hours previously. From unforeseen and uufortuuate circumstauces the race day had to be postponed twice, and in consequence a smaller attendance than usual was on the course, which considerably reduced tho gate-money, and, as a further consequence, the prize money paid had to be reduced about 25 pecent., and then the exchequer was empty. The meeting proceeded to olect officers for the current year, when Mr. H. Lushiu(,ton was elected president, Mr. G. F. Such treasurer; the members of last year's committee were also re-elected with the addition of Messrs. Parkinson, Shollum, Fenton, Brott, and J. Anderson. At a meeting of the new committee held immediately after the election Mr, G. F. Such was elected chairman of committee.—[Own Correspondent, |
